Area 4: Where Every Induction Becomes a Destination

There are regions known for their size.

There are regions known for their history.

And then there is Area 4, a region known for turning every induction into an experience.

Stretching across the Visayas and encompassing some of the Philippines’ most celebrated destinations, Area 4 offers something unique to every JCI member who attends its inductions. Here, leadership celebrations are accompanied by world-famous beaches, centuries-old traditions, unforgettable cuisine, and communities whose hospitality leaves a lasting impression long after the final gavel falls.

This year, JCI Manila had the opportunity to witness and celebrate the inductions of many of our sister chapters in Area 4, a family composed of JCI Bohalana Kisses, JCI Bohol Limestone, JCI Bohol Sandugo, JCI Cebu, JCI Chocolate Hills, JCI Mandaue, JCI Metro Cebu Uptown, JCI Negros Pintados, JCI Womandaue, JCI Zugbuana, JCI Catarman Cocoking, JCI Tacloban Love, Inc., JCI Antique Kruhay, JCI Bacolod, JCI CHICKS United, JCI Guimaras Manggahan, JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang, JCI Iloilo Inc., JCI Panitan Tumandok, JCI Regatta, JCI Roxas Halaran, JCI Roxas Makawiwili, JCI Roxas Sinadya, and JCI Talisay.

Though each chapter has its own unique character, they are united by a common commitment to leadership development, community service, and fellowship.

The Islands of Bohol: Heritage, Hospitality, and Heart

The province of Bohol is proudly represented by JCI Bohalana Kisses, JCI Bohol Limestone, JCI Bohol Sandugo, and JCI Chocolate Hills.

Few destinations in the Philippines can match Bohol’s ability to blend natural beauty, history, and culture. Visitors are welcomed by the iconic Chocolate Hills, pristine beaches, centuries-old churches, and the famous Loboc River.

Yet beyond the tourist attractions lies the true spirit of Bohol: its people.

Warm, humble, and deeply rooted in tradition, Boholanos embody the values that have helped these chapters thrive.

The province’s famous delicacies such as calamay, peanut kisses, fresh seafood, and traditional Boholano dishes often become part of the induction experience, allowing guests to savor the flavors of the island while celebrating leadership and fellowship.

Cebu: The Queen City of the South

Area 4 would not be complete without its strong Cebu contingent consisting of JCI Cebu, JCI Mandaue, JCI Metro Cebu Uptown, JCI Womandaue, and JCI Zugbuana.

Few chapters in the country carry a legacy as rich as JCI Cebu. Founded in 1948, it remains one of the oldest and most respected local organizations in the Philippines and Asia. This year, JCI Cebu celebrated its 77th Induction and Turnover Ceremonies at Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu, marking another milestone in its storied history.

The neighboring chapters of JCI Mandaue, JCI Metro Cebu Uptown, JCI Womandaue, and JCI Zugbuana continue to showcase the vibrancy of Cebu’s leadership community.

JCI Mandaue celebrated its 63rd Induction and Turnover Ceremonies, drawing support from fellow Area 4 chapters and reinforcing the strong bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood that define the region.

Meanwhile, JCI Womandaue marked its 15th Induction and Turnover Ceremonies at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, highlighting fifteen years of empowering women leaders and strengthening communities.

Cebu itself offers an experience unlike any other.

Visitors enjoy world-famous lechon, fresh seafood, puso rice, ngohiong, and a vibrant culinary scene that blends tradition with innovation. The city’s blend of modern development and historical significance creates an atmosphere where every induction feels both grand and meaningful.

Eastern Visayas: Resilience and Community

The chapters of JCI Catarman Cocoking and JCI Tacloban Love, Inc. proudly represent Eastern Visayas.

These communities have become symbols of resilience, perseverance, and hope. Through challenges and triumphs alike, they continue to develop leaders committed to creating positive change.

Tacloban and Northern Samar are known not only for their rich history but also for the strength of their people. Visitors are welcomed with genuine hospitality and local delicacies that reflect the region’s deep cultural roots.

The warmth of the Waray people often transforms first-time visitors into lifelong friends.

Western Visayas: Festivals, Food, and Fellowship

Perhaps nowhere in Area 4 is the connection between culture and celebration more evident than in Western Visayas.

Representing this vibrant region are JCI Antique Kruhay, JCI Bacolod, JCI CHICKS United, JCI Guimaras Manggahan, JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang, JCI Iloilo Inc., JCI Panitan Tumandok, JCI Regatta, JCI Roxas Halaran, JCI Roxas Makawiwili, JCI Roxas Sinadya, JCI Talisay, and JCI Negros Pintados.

These chapters proudly carry the traditions of provinces known throughout the country for their festivals and hospitality.

Bacolod’s famous MassKara spirit, Iloilo’s rich cultural heritage, Guimaras’ world-renowned mangoes, Antique’s natural beauty, and Capiz’s seafood abundance create an unforgettable backdrop for induction celebrations.

Food lovers find themselves particularly at home in Western Visayas.

From La Paz Batchoy and Pancit Molo in Iloilo, to the chicken inasal of Bacolod, the seafood feasts of Capiz, and the sweet mangoes of Guimaras, every induction becomes an opportunity to discover another piece of the region’s culinary identity.

Yet beyond the food and festivals lies something even more meaningful.

The people.

The Ilonggo warmth.

The Negrense charm.

The Capiznon hospitality.

The Antiqueño pride.

The Guimarasnon generosity.

These qualities elevate every induction from a formal ceremony into a genuine celebration of friendship.

More Than a Ceremony

What makes Area 4 special is not simply its beautiful destinations.

It is not the beaches of Cebu.

It is not the Chocolate Hills of Bohol.

It is not the festivals of Iloilo and Bacolod.

Nor is it the seafood, mangoes, lechon, batchoy, or inasal.

Those are merely the setting.

The true story of Area 4 is found in its people.

The members who spend months preparing for a single evening.

The officers who dedicate themselves to serving their communities.

The past presidents who continue to mentor future leaders.

The hosts who welcome every guest as family.

And the friendships formed through countless road trips, fellowship nights, area meetings, and inductions.

Because at the end of every induction, long after the lights have dimmed and the photographs have been taken, what remains are the memories.

The conversations.

The laughter.

The shared experiences.

The relationships.

That is what Area 4 does best.

It transforms inductions into experiences.

It transforms visitors into friends.

And it transforms chapters into family.

From the historic streets of Cebu to the shores of Guimaras, from the rolling hills of Bohol to the vibrant festivals of Western Visayas, every chapter contributes to a larger story.

A story of leadership.

A story of service.

A story of culture.

A story of fellowship.

And above all, a story of people coming together to create positive change.

That is the spirit of Area 4.

And it is a story worth experiencing.
