The Asian Pearl, the official publication of JCI Manila, has been selected as a Finalist at the 47th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) under the Best Local Community Publication category.
Founded in 1978 by the late Jaime L. Cardinal Sin, the Catholic Mass Media Awards remains one of the country’s most prestigious recognitions for excellence in communication, honoring individuals and organizations that use media to promote truth, compassion, and faith. The CMMA has long celebrated the country’s most respected names in journalism, such as Atom Araullo, Bernadette Sembrano, and Kara David, as well as iconic programs like Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho and I-Witness, and leading publications including the Manila Bulletin and Philippine Daily Inquirer.
To be named a finalist alongside these established media institutions is already a milestone for The Asian Pearl, especially as it continues its transformation following its recent relaunch as a modern digital platform for purposeful journalism. The publication aims to tell stories that highlight leadership, community impact, and the mission of JCI Manila to create positive change.
For JCI Manila, this recognition reaffirms the organization’s long-standing commitment to service through storytelling and its belief that media can be a powerful tool for nation-building.
The winners will be announced later this year, but even at this stage, being recognized as a finalist by the CMMA serves as an inspiring reminder that telling stories with heart, and purpose continues to make a difference.
