Last August 27, in the heart of Manila’s walled city, far from the noise of the everyday, JCI Manila gathered its members, partners, and distinguished guests for an evening of stillness and symbolism. The event: Silencio Manila, a one-of-a-kind experience that unfolded in whispers and wine, was a celebration of reflection, brotherhood, and purpose.
In a candlelit heritage hall draped in string melodies and warm ambiance, JCI Manila launched its first-ever exclusive wine label: Arquiza & Grey.
Named after the historic intersection of Arquiza and Grey Streets, the very site of the JCI Manila clubhouse, this debut label pays homage to the organization’s roots. For decades, this corner in Ermita, Manila has been a gathering ground for generations of Jaycees who came to build, serve, and lead.
“Arquiza & Grey is more than a wine, it’s a reflection of who we are,” said JCI Manila President Jan Adrian Padiernos in his opening message. “This bottle carries the story of generations who built with vision and served with heart. Tonight, we honor that legacy not with loud speeches, but with shared silence and intentional presence.”

The launch marks a milestone not just in branding, but in mission, blending cultural pride, craftsmanship, and community impact into every pour.
Silencio Manila unveiled two flagship vintages, each symbolizing a distinct facet of JCI Manila’s leadership spirit:
Arquiza & Grey Bordeaux Supérieur
A full-bodied red born in Bordeaux, France: complex, elegant, and rooted in tradition. With notes of dark cherry, plum, black pepper, and tobacco leaf, it mirrors the depth and strength of the organization’s legacy.
Arquiza & Grey Vino Blanco
A semi-dry white wine from Spain’s Muscat of Alexandria grape: bright, floral, and crisp. A celebration of clarity, innovation, and the vibrant energy of a new generation of changemakers.
“We didn’t just launch a label,” shared Executive Vice President Eikon Javaluyas during the evening’s quiet toast. “We bottled a belief. That leadership can be graceful, service can be still, and purpose can be poured. This is for every Jaycee who’s ever led with heart, and every future leader just finding their voice.”

The evening itself was intentionally quiet. No loud emcees, no program-heavy timelines. Instead, guests were invited to slow down, savor their surroundings, and immerse themselves in an atmosphere designed to awaken the senses. A live string ensemble filled the air with warmth, while Arquiza & Grey flowed into glasses with quiet significance.
Far from the conventional format, Silencio Manila became a space for introspection, elegance, and reconnection with oneself, with peers, and with the mission of JCI.
More than an elegant experience, the event supported JCI Manila’s core initiatives in education, livelihood, and youth leadership. A portion of proceeds from Arquiza & Grey will go directly to programs that uplift communities and empower new leaders.
“Even in silence,” EVP Eikon added, “we lead. We give. We grow. That’s what this wine stands for.”
As the night came to a close not with fanfare, but with shared understanding. Attendees left with something deeper than a souvenir bottle; they left with a story. One that continues to age well.
