Running for a Cause: JCI Manila and Palawan Group Unite for ColorFest Carnival Run 2026

A powerful partnership was sealed on April 24, 2026, as JCI Manila and the Palawan Group of Companies formalized their collaboration for one of the most anticipated events of the year—the ColorFest Carnival Run 2026.

Now on its fourth run, ColorFest is more than just a vibrant and energetic event. It is a movement with a mission: to raise ₱2,000,000 in support of building a mental health center, a long-term initiative aimed at promoting awareness and accessibility for mental health through both JCI Manila and Palawan Express platforms.

Scheduled for execution on May 31, 2026, the ColorFest Carnival Run brings together fun, fitness, and advocacy. Participants will not only experience a colorful and exciting run, but also contribute to a cause that addresses one of today’s most pressing challenges—mental health. The initiative goes beyond a single event, representing a sustained effort to create awareness, provide support, and build facilities that serve communities in need.

The partnership with Palawan Group significantly strengthens the reach and impact of the project. Led by Bobby Castro, alongside Bobbit Castro and Bernard Kaibigan, the organization has committed to supporting the initiative through cash sponsorship, extensive marketing reach via Palawan Express platforms, accident insurance for participants, and encouraging employee participation. In addition, professional medical workers will contribute their services in-kind, further reinforcing the safety and well-being of participants.

During the contract signing, Bobby Castro shared a personal reflection, recalling his own journey as a former JCI Manila member and the values that shaped his leadership. He also revealed a meaningful inspiration behind the event date—May 31 holds personal significance as it is the birthday of his wife, making the run not only impactful, but also deeply personal.

The signing was attended by key leaders from JCI Manila, including Pres. Edison Ke, Chairman Anthony Laborte, EVP Matt Flores, and Dir. Clifford Aw. Also present were members and directors Dir. Rocky Cebrero, Dir. James Sia, Comm. Kirby Ong, Comm. George Co, Joseph Mercado, and Tim Kairuz, reflecting the strong internal support behind the initiative.

The significance of the partnership also drew attention from major media organizations, including ABS-CBN, Manila Times, Manila Bulletin, Manila Standard, BusinessWorld, and PEP.ph. Their presence ensures that the advocacy for mental health will reach a wider audience, amplifying the impact of the initiative beyond the event itself.

As preparations move forward, the ColorFest Carnival Run stands as more than just a celebration of color and community. It is a platform where purpose meets action—where every step taken contributes to building a future that prioritizes mental health and well-being.

With strong leadership, committed partners, and a clear vision, JCI Manila continues to demonstrate how initiatives can go beyond events and create lasting change.

This is how we Lead Beyond.
