On January 19, inside a World Con Committee Lounge at Lola Café in San Juan City, the conversation was not about productions or registration sales.
It was about time.
Nearly three decades have passed since the Philippines last hosted the JCI World Congress in 1998. For many in the room, that event was not just a milestone. It was a memory etched in their leadership journey.
Rafael “Boydee” P. Dizon III was there in 1998. Now, in 2026, he is here again.
But this time, the stakes feel different.
“In your JCI Manila lifetime, this is the only World Congress we can hold,” Boydee told the committee. “The last time was 28 years ago. If you are still in your 20s, you might see another one. But I am old.”
The room laughed. The message, however, was clear.
This is once in a generation.

The question hung in the air.
“Why did we bid?” Boydee asked plainly.
“In the entire Philippines, it is only Manila that can host the World Congress. Pres. LA asked for it. It was an opportunity that we had, and we grabbed it.”
There was no five-year preparation cycle. No long runway.

Luis Angelo “LA” Sevilla, Directors of the 2026 World Congress Committee, put it bluntly.
“We are lucky. I did not ask for it. It was handed over to us on a silver platter.”
What came next was audacious.
“No country in the world can hold the World Congress in two years. We took it up.”
There is no template for hosting a World Congress. Every host writes its own playbook.
Clark 2026 will be no different.
The groundwork has already begun.

The Congress Directors’s global promotion campaign has covered 73,103 kilometers across 17 countries, engaging all four official Area Conferences:
Americas (Antigua and Barbuda)
Europe (Malaga, Spain)
Asia-Pacific (Niigata, Japan)
Middle East and Africa (Ivory Coast)
The strategy is deliberate. Mobilize each region, align leadership, and build momentum toward Clark.
Registration figures reflect that momentum. As of February 2026, 221 members are registered, representing a 68.55 percent increase from the same period last year.
But numbers alone are not the goal.
“We have to show the world what it takes to be Filipino,” Boydee said.
This time, Filipino hospitality will not be confined to Metro Manila.
“The pride of Filipino hospitality is no longer Manila anymore. We have to show how a Filipino host welcomes the world in his own backyard.”
That backyard is Clark.

Clark 2026 is not just a congress venue. It is a fully activated city experience.
The journey begins before landing, with integrated in-flight branding and storytelling that introduce delegates to the Philippine narrative mid-air.
Upon arrival, VIP Delegate Lanes and curated cultural performances transform the airport into a ceremonial entry point.
From tarmac to headquarters, Clark becomes a branded delegate corridor, integrating shuttles, wayfinding, and sponsor visibility into one seamless journey.

At the Congress Headquarters, a high-traffic trade expo is engineered for maximum flow and sponsor exposure. Cultural showcases and wellness spaces are integrated within a single-entry visibility strategy to ensure consistent engagement.
Opening Night at the Clark Hangar is envisioned as a large-scale production that transforms an industrial space into an immersive entertainment arena.
Philippine Night is designed as a concert-level cultural celebration, bringing together music, cuisine, and spectacle in a global showcase.

The program expands beyond the main stage.
Dynamic symposiums convert inspiration into action through global keynote plenaries, leadership labs, and industry roundtables.
Women Leading the Path gathers Filipina trailblazers and global leaders in a forum that highlights leadership across business, arts, media, and sport.
Clark Activated transforms the city into an immersive congress playground, blending culture, sport, and nightlife.
A curated Kids Program integrates JCI core values into experiential learning across Clark’s science centers, eco-parks, and theme attractions.
The official Guinness World Record attempt, in partnership with Liter of Light, will deploy more than 3,500 solar lamps to climate-vulnerable communities, directly benefiting over 15,000 Filipinos.

A world record with lasting impact.
The Congress concludes with a black-tie gala marking the ceremonial turnover of the JCI World Congress flag, accompanied by orchestral performances and Filipino artistry.
“When we say we are the best chapter,” LA said during the committee gathering, “we are.”
It is a bold statement, backed by decades of awards, institutional memory, and execution.
“There is no template for any World Congress.”
Clark 2026 will not replicate 1998. It will define its own standard.
In 1998, Manila hosted the world.
In 2026, the world returns.
This time, it will see what it means for a Filipino host to welcome the global community in his own backyard.
For many in JCI Manila, it may be the only time in their lifetime.
That is precisely why they said yes.
