World Congress VVIP ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR Keon Kester Chioa Champions JCI Manila’s Grand Slam Journey in Africa

The Grand Slam journey is more than a series of international conferences.

It is a commitment to representing JCI Manila, strengthening global friendships, and carrying the banner of Philippine leadership to every corner of the world.

For JCI Manila World Congress VVIP Engagement Director Keon Kester Chioa, that commitment brought him to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, for the 2026 JCI Africa and the Middle East Conference (AMEC), the third major stop in the chapter’s ambitious Grand Slam campaign.

Held from May 20 to 23, 2026, the conference welcomed hundreds of young leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers from Africa, the Middle East, and beyond. Hosted in the vibrant economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire, the gathering served as a platform for leadership development, international collaboration, cultural exchange, and meaningful discussions on sustainable development and community impact.

For WCVED Keon, however, the conference represented something even greater.

It was an opportunity to strengthen JCI Manila’s presence on the global stage and continue building momentum for the 2026 JCI World Congress in Clark, Pampanga.

As delegates from more than 50 countries converged in Abidjan, conversations extended far beyond conference halls. New partnerships were explored. International friendships were forged. Future collaborations were discussed. Through every interaction, WCVED Keon embodied the values that have long defined JCI Manila: excellence in leadership, genuine camaraderie, and a passion for creating positive change.

The Africa and the Middle East Conference is widely recognized as one of JCI’s most dynamic regional gatherings. Leadership workshops, entrepreneurial forums, networking opportunities, and cultural immersion activities provide delegates with unique opportunities to learn from diverse perspectives while sharing solutions to common challenges faced by communities around the world.

Against this backdrop, WCVED Keon proudly carried the JCI Manila banner, demonstrating that leadership transcends geography, language, and culture.

His participation also underscored the importance of international engagement as JCI Manila prepares to welcome thousands of delegates to the Philippines for World Congress 2026. Every conversation in Abidjan became an opportunity to introduce fellow members to Clark, share the excitement surrounding the upcoming World Congress, and showcase the warmth and hospitality for which Filipinos are known worldwide.

Abidjan itself provided an inspiring setting for the conference. Often referred to as the economic heart of West Africa, the city is known for its energy, diversity, and rapid development. Delegates experienced not only world-class leadership programming but also the rich culture and spirit of a region committed to growth and transformation.

For WCVED Keon, the journey was another reminder that the strength of JCI lies in its ability to unite young leaders from different backgrounds under a common mission: creating positive change.

The significance of this moment becomes even clearer when viewed as part of the broader Grand Slam campaign. From Europe to the Americas, from Africa to Asia-Pacific, JCI Manila members have crossed borders and oceans to strengthen relationships that will ultimately culminate at the 2026 JCI World Congress in Clark.

Each destination contributes a chapter to the story.

Each delegate becomes an ambassador.

And each conversation brings the world closer together.

In Abidjan, WCVED Keon continued that mission with distinction.

His presence reflected the unwavering commitment of JCI Manila to global leadership, international collaboration, and service beyond borders. More importantly, it demonstrated that true leadership is not measured by titles or positions, but by the willingness to represent one’s organization, community, and country with pride wherever the journey leads.

As the Grand Slam campaign moves forward, the memories, friendships, and partnerships forged in Africa will remain an important part of JCI Manila’s road to Clark 2026.

And in that journey, World Congress VVIP Engagement Director Keon Kester Chioa proudly helped write another chapter of JCI Manila’s growing legacy on the world stage.
