Myles Tan and Jay Pasicolan Deliver JCI Manila’s First-Ever Pickleball Victory

JCI Manila recorded its first-ever pickleball victory as Myles Tan and Commissioner Jay Pasicolan captured the championship at the JCI Alabang Smash Cup 2026 on September 4, 2026, at the Pickleball Hub in Alabang.

The tournament formed part of the activities of the 46th Metro Area Conference, bringing together Jaycees for a day of competition and fellowship on the pickleball court.

Representing JCI Manila, Tan and Pasicolan entered the tournament carrying the chapter’s colors and competing under the banner of the organization recognized as the first JCI chapter in Asia.

For JCI Manila, the tournament marked a new chapter in the organization’s growing involvement in sports. The pair combined court discipline, teamwork, and competitive play to secure the chapter’s first pickleball championship.

The victory also added another sporting milestone to JCI Manila’s activities, where sports programs have served as opportunities for members to participate in competition while strengthening relationships across the organization.

Myles Tan brings an established record of involvement in JCI Manila activities, including training, chapter engagement, international projects, and cross-chapter initiatives. Publicly available profiles and JCI-related publications document his long-standing participation in JCI Manila and his involvement in international campaigns, including the Grand Slam Mission for Clark 2026.

Comm. Jay, meanwhile, has also represented JCI Manila in international and chapter activities. He was previously part of the JCI Manila delegation to the 2025 JCI Asia-Pacific Conference in Ulaanbaatar and was involved in the delegation’s Clark 2026 promotional activities.

Their partnership on the pickleball court brought together two members with experience in representing the chapter beyond Manila.

After securing the victory, Myles Tan and Comm. Jay raised the JCI Manila and JCI World Congress 2026 in Clark, Philippines banners at the venue, linking the sporting achievement with the chapter’s ongoing efforts to promote the Philippines as host of the international JCI gathering.

For the two players, the win was also the beginning of what they hope will become a longer chapter in JCI Manila’s pickleball participation.

“This is the first but definitely not the last chapter of our chapter’s pickleball legacy,” Myles said.

The pair’s approach to the tournament was captured in a simple sporting principle: “Practice like you’ve never won; perform like you’ve never lost.”

On September 4, Myles and Comm. Jay put that approach into action.

Their victory gave JCI Manila its first pickleball title and added another sporting achievement to the chapter’s record during the 46th Metro Area Conference.

More importantly, the JCI Alabang Smash Cup 2026 established a starting point for what could become a continuing pickleball program within the chapter.

For Myles and Comm. Jay, the first championship is now in the books.

The next objective is to build on it.

One tournament. One historic victory. And, if the champions have anything to say about it, the beginning of a much longer JCI Manila pickleball legacy.
