JCI Manila’s Color Fest Carnival Run Draws Over 8,000 Filipinos for Mental Health Awareness

PASAY CITY, Philippines — More than 8,000 runners, advocates, families, and supporters gathered at the MOA Open Grounds on May 31, 2026, as JCI Manila successfully staged the Colorfest Carnival Run: Run for Mental Health, one of the largest advocacy-driven fun runs dedicated to mental health awareness in the country.

The event transformed the bustling grounds of the Mall of Asia Complex into a vibrant sea of color and energy, bringing together participants from all walks of life in support of a cause that continues to grow in importance across Filipino communities. Combining fitness, entertainment, and advocacy, the Colorfest Carnival Run created an atmosphere that was both celebratory and purposeful, reinforcing the message that mental health deserves greater awareness, understanding, and support.

Throughout the morning, participants navigated a colorful race course lined with interactive stations, wellness activities, and entertainment segments designed to engage runners while promoting conversations about emotional wellness and mental health. The event’s carnival-themed atmosphere provided a unique backdrop for an advocacy that touched thousands of lives, demonstrating how community-driven initiatives can create meaningful opportunities for education, engagement, and action.

While the event offered participants an unforgettable experience filled with excitement and camaraderie, its mission extended far beyond the finish line. Proceeds and support generated through the Colorfest Carnival Run will benefit the Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) and contribute toward the development of a facility dedicated to strengthening mental health awareness, education, and community-based support programs for Filipinos.

The initiative reflected JCI Manila’s continuing commitment to addressing relevant social issues through innovative and impactful programs. Under the leadership of 2026 JCI Manila President Edison Ke, the organization sought to create a platform that would not only raise awareness but also inspire action and encourage open conversations surrounding mental health.

“Mental health awareness continues to be an important conversation in today’s society. Through this event, we wanted to create not only awareness, but also hope, support, and action for those facing mental health challenges,” said Pres. Eds.

The project was spearheaded by Chairman Anton Laborte and Vice Chairman Enzo Pineda under the leadership of Director Clifford Aw, JCI Manila’s 2026 Director for Membership Benefits and Partnerships. Working alongside hundreds of volunteers and the entire JCI Manila Lead Beyond Board of Directors, the organizing team successfully delivered an event that attracted thousands of participants and generated widespread support from the private sector, media organizations, and advocacy partners.

The overwhelming turnout highlighted the growing recognition of mental health as a critical issue affecting individuals, families, and communities throughout the country. Participants included fitness enthusiasts, corporate groups, youth leaders, community advocates, and families who came together to support the cause and demonstrate solidarity with those facing mental health challenges.

A significant factor behind the event’s success was the strong support received from a broad network of corporate sponsors and partners. Leading the roster of supporters were TKL Steel Corporation and Flooring Solutions, whose contributions helped bring the large-scale initiative to life.

They were joined by an impressive group of organizations including Smart Communications, Palawan Group of Companies, Aruga PH, Angkan Coffee, Industrial.Ph, Katinko, UniSilver Time, SIGI, Jethrock, Cross-Link, Emerzone Foods, Eluvo Health, Filam, Footray290, Fujifilm Prints, Henry’s Cameras, Instax, SEO Hacker, Atomic Cube, Capstone Properties, Blueprint Business Solutions, AutoHub Group, SMI, JMD, JSST, Spark, Top Gun Property Consultants, Wealth Property Consultants, and Zagana.

Their collective support enabled organizers to provide a world-class race experience while ensuring that the event’s advocacy remained at the forefront. Through sponsorships, activations, and collaborative efforts, these organizations demonstrated a shared commitment to promoting mental wellness and supporting initiatives that create positive social impact.

Equally instrumental to the success of the event were JCI Manila’s media and communications partners, whose extensive coverage helped amplify the advocacy and encourage participation from thousands of Filipinos. Supporting the initiative were Aksyon Radyo, Manila Bulletin, Monster RX93.1, DWIZ, DZRH, DZBB Super Radyo, GMA Radio, Bilyonaryo, Blogapalooza, Havas Ortega, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Multisport, Cignal TV, Chinoy TV, The Pod Network, Punto Consultancy, 360X Studio, REV, Outcomm, StrongMedia, Doh.ph, FreakOut, Rappler, and People’s Television Network (PTV).

Their partnership enabled the message of mental health awareness to reach audiences far beyond the event grounds, helping spark conversations and inspire greater understanding of the importance of emotional well-being.

Beyond the numbers, sponsorships, and logistics, the true impact of the Colorfest Carnival Run could be seen in the thousands of individuals who chose to participate in support of a common cause. Families crossed the finish line together, friends encouraged one another along the route, and participants proudly wore their colors as symbols of solidarity and hope.

For many, the event represented more than a run. It served as a reminder that mental health challenges are not faced alone and that communities play an essential role in fostering understanding, compassion, and support. Every kilometer completed and every burst of color throughout the course reinforced the event’s central message: that awareness must be accompanied by action and that meaningful change begins when people come together with a shared purpose.

The Colorfest Carnival Run also exemplified JCI Manila’s 2026 Lead Beyond direction, which challenges members to create programs that go beyond expectations, expand the reach of impactful initiatives, and build sustainable solutions for future generations. Through this project, the organization demonstrated its commitment to going Beyond the Expected by delivering meaningful community programs, Beyond the Limit by mobilizing thousands of participants and partners, and Beyond the Next Generation by investing in initiatives that will continue to create positive impact in the years to come.

As the final runners crossed the finish line and the colorful festivities drew to a close, the significance of the event became clear. The success of the Colorfest Carnival Run was not measured solely by the more than 8,000 participants who attended, but by the awareness raised, the conversations started, and the lives that stand to benefit from the support generated through the initiative.

With the successful staging of the Colorfest Carnival Run: Run for Mental Health, JCI Manila once again demonstrated how leadership, collaboration, and community engagement can come together to create lasting impact. More than a celebration of fitness and wellness, the event became a powerful statement that mental health matters and that collective action remains one of the strongest forces for positive change.
