On February 3, 2026, JCI Manila conducted a courtesy visit to the Indian Embassy as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic engagement and international cooperation within the JCI network. The delegation met with Harsh Kumar Jain, Ambassador of India to the Philippines, to discuss opportunities for collaboration between JCI Manila, JCI India, and members of the diplomatic community.
The visit was organized under the Diplomatic Affairs Group and was led by two past presidents of JCI Manila, Pres LA Sevilla and Pres Richard “Dods” Lim. Their leadership underscored the chapter’s continued commitment to sustaining long-term international relationships and strengthening institutional ties beyond a single term.

During the courtesy call, the JCI Manila delegation formally invited Ambassador Jain to engage more closely with JCI Manila initiatives and programs. One of the primary agenda items was the possibility of encouraging greater participation from diplomats and JCI members based in India in future chapter activities. The discussion highlighted the value of expanding cross-border engagement within the JCI movement.
The meeting also focused on strengthening collaboration with JCI India. Representatives explored potential joint projects and exchanges that promote cultural understanding and shared values. Particular attention was given to the development of collaborative initiatives that recognize and honor Indian culture, creating opportunities for meaningful cultural engagement through JCI-led programs.

Another key topic was international participation in major JCI events. The delegation personally invited Ambassador Jain to attend the JCI World Congress, emphasizing the event’s role as a global platform for leadership development, diplomacy, and international cooperation. The invitation reflected JCI Manila’s objective of increasing diplomatic and international stakeholder presence at global JCI gatherings.

Also in attendance was Alf Yaptinchay, Director for World Congress Engagement and International Affairs, who discussed aligning diplomatic participation with JCI Manila’s broader international engagement strategy. Joining the delegation were JCI Manila members Raj Parwani, Carlo Cruz, and Randolf Vista, who contributed to discussions on outreach and project collaboration.

The courtesy visit concluded with both parties expressing openness to continued dialogue and future cooperation. While no formal agreements were finalized during the meeting, the discussion laid the groundwork for potential collaborative initiatives involving JCI Manila, JCI India, and diplomatic partners, marking a constructive step toward deeper international engagement.
