Members of JCI Manila traveled to Zamboanga from February 22 to 23, 2026 to attend the local JCI induction ceremonies and participate in a series of fellowship activities organized to strengthen ties with fellow Jaycees in Mindanao. The trip was coordinated by project chairmen Rexy and Ron Cani.
The delegation arrived in Zamboanga City, known for its strong cultural heritage and active JCI community. The primary purpose of the visit was to attend the induction ceremonies of local JCI chapters, where newly elected officers and members formally assumed their roles in leading community initiatives and organizational programs.

The induction program gathered members and guests from various chapters, creating an environment that highlighted the shared mission of leadership development and community service within the JCI network. The event served as a platform for members to reconnect, build new relationships, and reaffirm their commitment to the organization’s principles.

Following the induction ceremonies, the group attended a boxing event featuring rising athletes from the region. The match drew strong interest from attendees, who gathered to watch the bouts and support the athletes. The evening’s activity provided an opportunity for members to engage in fellowship outside of the formal program while sharing a common enthusiasm for the sport.

On the following day, the delegation continued the visit with a trip to Basilan, where they traveled to Malamawi Island, known for its clear waters and coastal landscapes. The visit allowed members to experience one of the region’s natural destinations while continuing informal exchanges among participants.

During the excursion, members also visited local coastal communities involved in lobster farming, where they observed how residents cultivate and manage the seafood resource. The visit provided insight into the livelihood practices of the area and highlighted the importance of sustainable aquaculture for community income and food supply.
The two-day trip combined official JCI activities with cultural exposure and fellowship opportunities. From attending induction ceremonies to visiting coastal communities, the experience reinforced the connections among members across different regions of the country.

For JCI Manila, the visit underscored the importance of maintaining active relationships with chapters nationwide. By participating in events outside their home chapter, members continue to strengthen the national network of JCI while gaining a deeper understanding of the communities and cultures they serve.
As the delegation returned from Zamboanga and Basilan, the experience stood as another example of how JCI engagements extend beyond formal meetings—bringing members together through shared leadership, community interaction, and the friendships that sustain the organization’s mission.
