When Communities Lead the Way
For Dizon Kwok, service has always meant more than showing up. As Vice President for Community Affairs of JCI Manila, his focus was clear from the outset: to ensure that every initiative created meaningful, lasting value for the communities the chapter serves.
That perspective is grounded not only in advocacy, but in lived experience. Outside JCI, Kwok is deeply involved in building and operating businesses that rely on trust, systems, and long-term relationships. He is part of Romantic Baboy Korean BBQ, one of the premier unlimited samgyupsal brands in the Philippines since 2019. He is also behind Cheng Dynasty Hotpot, which began in 2023 and has since expanded with branches in Banawe and Caloocan City, and Built Up Inc., a company engaged in the trading of electrical and construction materials.

These ventures shaped his belief that sustainable growth, whether in business or community work, begins with listening, partnership, and empowerment.
Before assuming the VP role, Kwok also served as Director for Special Projects in 2024, where he handled initiatives that required cross-sector coordination, creativity, and execution at scale. That experience further sharpened his ability to turn intention into action.
Rather than approaching community work as a series of standalone projects, Kwok believed in building trust first. He understood that real impact begins with listening, grows through partnership, and lasts when communities are empowered to lead their own progress. Over the course of the year, this belief shaped how JCI Manila engaged with its partner barangays and grassroots organizations.
A Collaborative Approach to Impact
Central to this work was a leadership structure that valued collaboration. Working closely with Bobbit Castro, Director for Community Development, and Joshua Aragon, Director for Special Projects, Kwok helped steer initiatives that were both responsive and sustainable.

Together, they strengthened partnerships with local communities and developed programs that addressed real needs on the ground. Livelihood and health initiatives stood out, particularly skills training programs designed for youth and women. These efforts opened doors to income opportunities while restoring confidence and self-sufficiency among participants.
For JCI Manila members, the experience was equally transformative. Seeing tangible outcomes from their service reinforced the value of community work and deepened their connection to the organization’s mission.
Leadership That Supports the Work
Managing multiple community programs required constant coordination and clarity. Kwok led with open communication, clear delegation, and regular check-ins with his directors and teams. This approach ensured alignment not only within the organization, but also with the communities being served.

By fostering a supportive environment where volunteers felt valued and connected to the impact of their work, momentum was sustained even during challenging periods. Small victories were celebrated, keeping teams grounded and motivated throughout the year.
A Legacy Rooted in Partnership
For Kwok, success is measured by what continues after a term ends. The relationships built with barangays and partner organizations, along with the livelihood programs launched under his watch, were designed to endure.

These initiatives created trust, continuity, and opportunities for future growth. More importantly, they empowered communities to move forward with greater independence and resilience.
This is the legacy Dizon Kwok hopes to leave behind: a culture of service rooted in partnership, leadership that amplifies others, and community work that strengthens lives long after the project is complete.
