On January 29, 2025, JCI Manila proudly inaugurated the Shelter of Hope, a sanctuary of compassion for Metro Manila’s homeless, created in partnership with Hospicio de San Jose. This milestone builds upon the success of the Electric Night Run for Hope held on May 18, 2024, reinforcing JCI Manila’s commitment to sustainable community development.
The initiative stands as a powerful testament to unity and service, recognizing the dedication of Direc Charles Ratcliffe and the unwavering efforts of the Baby Jaycee group, led by Chair Joey Cecilia. Their passion and teamwork exemplify JCI Manila’s mission to elevate lives and strengthen communities.
More than just a shelter, the Shelter of Hope offers a new beginning to those seeking a second chance. Through its 2024 Community Development Projects at Hospicio de San Jose, JCI Manila has renovated and expanded night shelter facilities, provided 150 mattresses to street dwellers through Project Shelter Care, empowered 24 homeless individuals to earn their TESDA NC II Carpentry certification through Project HULMA, and served nutritious meals through the ongoing feeding program Project Food for Life.
Impactful, sustainable, and transformative, this initiative reflects JCI Manila’s enduring legacy of service.
